NEW YORK (AP) Oklahoma has dropped 9 spots in The Associated Press college football poll.

The Sooners are ranked # 23 following Saturday's 28-10 loss to Texas in the Red River Rivalry in Dallas.

But Ohio State has strengthened its grip on the #1 ranking. The Buckeyes picked up 63 of 65 first-place votes after Saturday's
35-7 rout of Bowling Green.

Florida climbed 3 spots to 2nd by downing LSU. Arkansas cracked the poll at #17 after whipping Auburn 27-10. The Tigers dropped from 2nd to 11th.

Southern Cal is 3rd, followed by Michigan and West Virginia.

6th ranked Texas is followed by Louisville, Tennessee, Notre Dame and California.

Auburn is just ahead of Clemson, Georgia Tech, LSU and Iowa. Georgia checks in at 16, followed by the Razorbacks, Oregon, Missouri and Boise State.

Nebraska, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma, Rutgers and Wisconsin round out the top 25.
