TIRANA, Albania (AP) _ Police said Sunday they disarmed a 25-year old Albanian who was threatening to explode a grenade on a bus. Nobody was injured.
Ardian Sina stopped the bus, with 35 passengers aboard, in Sukth, some 12 miles west of the capital, Tirana, at midday, police said.
He told the driver he would explode a hand grenade unless the bus took him to Tirana's Mother Teresa International Airport.
Police intervened after one of the passengers sent a text message from a cell phone, and the hijacker was disarmed.
Deputy Interior Minister Gjergj Lezhja said it was ``very likely'' that the suspect was suffering from mental problems.
The official said all passengers were safe and an investigation was under way.
