Ernest Istook Talks About Campaign Employee And Former US House Page

Congressman Ernest Istook speaks out on claims a member of his campaign staff was once involved with former Florida Congressman Mark Foley, the man at the center of the US House page scandal.

Thursday afternoon, Istook addressed the media, cautioning the media and blasting the Internet blogger believed to be responsible for leaking the alleged relationship to the media.

Istook also denied knowing about Foley's behavior while working with him on Capitol Hill. He said we all need to be considerate of the victim's rights and feelings.

â€œI believe there's no justification for putting this young man in the national media spotlight when what he needs and deserves is Christian compassion. Instead we have a media stakeout where they hope to ask him embarrassing questions.â€

We're told the alleged victim has obtained an attorney.

Istook has also asked everyone to allow the facts to come out, before jumping to conclusions about the alleged relationship.
