OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Governor Brad Henry and Congressman Ernest Istook are releasing their income tax returns for last year.

The two face each other in the race for governor. The election is November 7th.

Both men say their government salaries are their prime source of income and that they earned more as lawyers before being elected to public office.

The governor and first lady Kim Henry reported making just over $136,000 last year while paying more than $26,000 in state and federal taxes.

Henry is paid $110,000 a year as governor.

The congressman and his wife Judy reported just more than $272,000 in income while paying more than $38,000 in taxes. Almost half the income came from selling their condominium in Virginia.

Istook and his wife reported more than $150,500 in wages and he says nearly all that is from his congressional salary although Judy Istook earned just over $10,000 as a nurse.
