PONCA CITY, Okla. (AP) -- A 17-year-old Ponca City resident was killed in a two-car collision in Osage County.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Vincent M. Gaines was pronounced dead on arrival at a Ponca City hospital Saturday from head injuries following the 7:45 AM collision.
Troopers say the collision occurred on US Highway 60 one mile east of Ponca City. The victim was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Anthony Arlen Rhodd that ran into the back of a second vehicle that had stopped in the roadway to make a left turn.
Rhodd was treated for minor injuries and released from an area hospital. Troopers say neither Rhodd nor Gaines was wearing a seat belt.
