The city of Broken Arrow is looking to make a little extra cash. It’s holding a surplus auction. And instead of bringing people on site, the city is drawing buyers online.

It's the first time the city will offer its surplus auction to anyone in cyber space. So with just one click, you could be the owner of a trash truck or Bobcat skid loader.

The city is getting rid of outdated items that aren't working or cost too much to maintain. Items up for bid include pick up trucks, a concrete breaker, telephone system, and other office supplies.

City officials say they hope an online auction will get a bigger response than a traditional one day auction. Beginning Friday you can go online and bid for the items. The auction runs until October 13th.

Broken Arrow's general services director Lee Zirk: "September 29th we'll turn the auction on, all the items will be on there, they can look at the description, see the pictures that are there to look at and start bidding on the items.”

The actual auction site, Public Surplus, works a lot like eBay. Money made from the auction will go to the city's general fund.
