DENVER (AP) Tatum Bell is doing all he can to persuade Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan to ditch his running back rotation.
Bell, a former Oklahoma State standout, excelled when he was given the chance to become Denver's workhorse running back, carrying a career high 27 times for 123 yards in the Broncos' win at New England on Sunday. He shared snaps with rookie Mike Bell for the first 2 games.
Shanahan says he thinks he did a pretty good but wants to make sure he's consistent. Shanahan won't hesitate to give Mike Bell more touches if Tatum Bell slows down late in games or in the season, is inconsistent or proves he's an unreliable receiver.
After all, rotating his running backs worked great last year.
