A Tulsa man says forgiveness, not hate, is the path he's chosen after being wrongly convicted and being sent to death row.
Greg Wilhoit was convicted of murdering his wife and wasn't cleared by forensic evidence until he'd been on death row for four years.
He says he was in a state of denial and that was the only way he survived. "I kept a blanket over the bars on the front of my cell. I had a TV and radio and I read a lot and just sat in there and pretended I was somewhere other than where I was."
Greg became friends with another death row prisoner, who was also innocent. His name was Ron Williamson and he spent 12 years on death row for murdering a woman in Ada, before being cleared with DNA.
John Grisham's new book ‘Innocent Man’, features their stories and is his first work of non-fiction. It goes on sale October 10th.
