Big 12 left without signature win

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Big 12 teams are wrapping up nonconference play and still looking for a big win.

The Big 12 is a combined 0-and-9 against ranked teams from other conferences and have only a couple of games against Division 1AA teams remaining.

But coaches in the conference say the still believe the Big 12's reputation as an elite conference is not in any danger.

Texas coach Mack Brown says Big 12 teams deserves credit for playing really good nonconference games. And Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy points out a Big 12 team has played in the national title game in five of the past six years.
