NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ University of Oklahoma defensive coordinator Brent Venables says cornerback Marcus Walker has earned the right to start at cornerback for the Sooners.

Walker is expected to get the start Saturday against Middle Tennessee.

Walker and Lendy Holmes split repetitions last week at corner for the OU-Oregon game in place of DJ Wolfe, who was the starter at the beginning of the season. Holmes started Saturday against Oregon, but gave up a 30-yard touchdown pass to Ducks wideout Jaison Williams.

Walker finished with a game-high four pass breakups and was the team's Defensive Player of the Game.
