MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- The former director of the McCurtain County Educational Cooperative has been sentenced to six months of in-home detention and ordered to pay a $120,000 fine for embezzling funds from the agency he founded three decades ago.
Deb "Sonny" Victor was also given five years of supervised probation. He was indicted following a state audit and FBI investigation. He had pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement.
He was accused of stealing more than $120,000 from the cooperative by padding his expense reports and salary over a three-year period that ended in fiscal year 2002-03.
