TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Tulsa businessman Bill Bartmann is embarking on a new career as a motivational speaker.
Bartmann is best known as founder and CEO of Tulsa based Commercial Financial Services, which collapsed in 1999 amid allegations the company inflated its performance through the creation of a shell company.
Bartmann went to trial in federal court, but he was acquitted of 57 counts of conspiracy, fraud and money-laundering.
Now the 57-year-old Bartmann is offering his perspectives as a motivational speaker, touting himself as the only authentic success and failure expert.
Since the fall of CFS, Bartmann's personal fortune estimated $3.5-billion was wiped out and he declared personal bankruptcy.
He now runs Bill Bartmann enterprises from a modest strip mall storefront with two other employees.
