OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Motorists heading to the highway for Labor Day weekend are being warned of heavy traffic congestion along Interstate 44 near the Sapulpa and Kellyville areas in northeast Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a construction zone along the Turner Turnpike resulted in delays of up to 45 minutes Friday night. Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route of travel, exiting at the Kellyville exit and taking State Highway 66 through the Sapulpa and back to I-44 on the west side of Tulsa.

Meanwhile, US Highway 81 south of Comanche was reopened Saturday after a more than five-hour delay. Troopers shut down the roadway Saturday morning after a tractor-trailer overturned and blocked both lanes.

There were no immediate reports of injuries, and the highway was reopened a little after seven Saturday morning.
