OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A new federal law requiring schools that receive federal money to teach students about the US Constitution has Oklahoma schools scrambling to develop courses and programs.
At Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, students and members of the community are signing a 60-foot replica of the Constitution.
At Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, student government officers will pass out copies of the Constitution on campus Friday and prior to Saturday's home football game.
At Oklahoma City Community College, students will be given free pocket-size copies of the Constitution and will set up a display explaining the amendments.
The deadline for developing an original curriculum is Constitution Day, September 17th.
