OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Supporters of a wage increase for public school employees hold a Labor Day march to the Oklahoma City Public Schools administration building.
Organizers say Monday's event was held to highlight the financial hardships caused for many school support personnel.
Participants completed a one-and-a-half mile march that ended with a rally at the administration building.
Nita Bowie -- a cafateria manager for Oklahoma City Public Schools -- says she's worked for the district for 13 years and makes only $8 an hour. She says once health insurance for her family is deducted from her paycheck, her take-home pay is about $200 every two weeks.
