OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Another large group is coming out against a proposal to raise the state tax on gasoline and diesel.
The Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association says it's against State Question 723, which would increase the tax on gas by a nickel a gallon and the tax on diesel by 8 cents. Supporters say the money would be used to repair state roads and bridges.
But the petroleum association says the tax increase isn't needed and would hurt the state's economy.
Voters will decide the question on September 13th.
