Habitat for Humanity has teamed up with the Bank of America to build homes all across the country. One of those homes is located in Tulsa.
The new home in the 2600 block of East 27th Place North is part of the Hugh McColl project. He is a former CEO of the Bank of America who wanted to use his retirement package to help other people.
The Hugh McColl project will fund the building of 120 homes across the country in the next five years. This is the third such house built in Tulsa. Bank of America vice president Mike Earl: "Today everyone took a little time off but for the rest of the build which will be a few weeks, its volunteers or Saturday time until the rest of the house is complete."
The new homeowner has a role in all this too; she will spend about 500 hours putting her own work into the house.
