A Tulsa mechanic got the highest honor possible from General Motors Thursday. Daniel Parrish, a mechanic at Jim Glover Chevrolet, was recognized as a world class certified technician.
This is the highest rank a technician can receive after completing an extensive training program. Parrish has been a Jim Glover employee for four years, but he started working on cars long before that.
Daniel Parrish: "Started when I was 14, my granddad showed me how to break down an engine, never thought I'd be a technician then I went to college to be a technician."
Parrish is only one of 12 such technicians in the state and 600 in the United States.
