OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- US Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt came to Oklahoma Wednesday to promote a new Medicare prescription drug program.

Leavitt met with senior citizens and those who provide services to the elderly in Oklahoma City.

He's encouraging senior citizens to take advantage of the program that helps them pay for prescription drugs. Leavitt says the average cost will be about $30 a month.

Enrollment in the program begins November 15th and benefits begin on January 1st.
