Another Oklahoman has become a casualty of the war in Iraq.
Mike Dawes of Stilwell was killed in Baquba when a bomber walked into the dining room of a police headquarters and blew himself up. Dawes was an international police liaison officer with DynCorp International.
He was helping train Iraqi police officers. Dawes was a former Cherokee Nation Marshal.
The tribe gave us a picture of Dawes that shows him on duty while he was working in Kosovo.
Dawes is survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters. One of his sons recently returned home from a tour of duty in Iraq.
