NORMAN, Okla. (AP) â€“ Norman Police say a man was struck by a train near the University of Oklahoma campus.

Investigators didn't release the name of the man, who was fatally injured about 4:30 AM Friday.

State Medical Examiner Kevin Rowland says the man was found dead under the train with trauma over his entire body,

According to police, a friend of the victim told police the man had been lying on the tracks and fell asleep.

Police Officer Jennifer Newell says investigators believe alcohol was a contributing factor.

The man told police his friend didn't wake up as the train approached.
