OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- 45 Oklahoma school districts have gone tobacco free 24 hours, seven days a week.

The Oklahoma Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust Fund was told Wednesday that those districts are just a fraction of the state's 541 school districts. Most of those school districts are located in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and other urban areas where 35 percent of the total state student body attend.

The report came at a joint meeting of the Board of Investors and the Board of Directors for the tobacco trust fund. State Treasurer Scott Meacham is chairman of the investors group and Susan Bize is chairwoman of the board of directors.

The group recognized the Oklahoma State School Boards Association with a plaque for advocating that school districts adopt policies banning smoking on school campuses at all times.
