Monday marked 70 years since a plane crash in Alaska that killed Will Rogers and Wiley Post.
Ceremonies to commemorate that day were held Monday in Oklahoma City and Claremore. Folks remembered Post in song and by placing a wreath in front of his memorial. Victor Bird with the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission: "Wiley Post was a person who had many many obstacles to overcome and he looked at all of those as opportunities really."
Discovering the "jet stream" was one of Post's most famous accomplishments. Will Rogers was a cowboy humorist and all-around entertainer.
Both were killed when their floatplane went down near Point Barrow, Alaska in 1935.
