UNDATED (AP) -- Recent rains are helping reduce dry conditions in all but far southeastern Oklahoma where a severe drought continues.

Mark Shafer with the Oklahoma Climatological Survey says the southeast corner of the state has only about half the normal amount of rain.

But storms the last few days are dropping rain across other areas. For the 24-hour period ending at 7 this morning Tulsa, McAlester and Guthrie each received more than two inches of rain and Oklahoma City got three-tenths of an inch.

Oklahoma City's year-to-date rainfall is about five inches below normal and Tulsa is about six inches below normal.

The chance for rain is to decrease tomorrow and a drying trend is expected until the weekend when there is a chance for more showers.
