OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Two state horseracing tracks are given the green light to open casinos.
The Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission yesterday approved gaming licenses for Remington Park in Oklahoma City and Blue Ribbon Downs in Sallisaw. Neither casino is expected to open for at least another month.
An application for Will Rogers Downs in Claremore was delayed for a third straight month amid legal concerns.
The Choctaw Nation -- which owns Blue Ribbon Downs -- spent about $2 million preparing its old off-track-betting room to become the state's first racetrack casino, commonly called ``racinos.''
Remington Park is undergoing a $32 million renovation, delaying its racino opening until November.
