CUSHING, Okla. (AP) A Payne County judge orders four inmates accused of participating in a deadly prison riot to stand trial.
Payne County Special Judge Phillip Corley found probable cause that the prisoners should be bound over for trial in the death of fellow inmate Adam Lippert.
31-year-old Cedric D. Poore; 33-year-old Eugene Gutierrez; 32-year-old Shawn P. Byrd and 22-year-old Jason J. Williamson have been charged with participating in a riot that resulted in a death, a count that could bring them the death penalty.
Lippert was fatally stabbed March 22nd at the Cimarron Correctional Facility in Cushing.
Poore, Gutierrez and Byrd are scheduled to be arraigned September second and Williamson is set to be arraigned September 16th.
