A Green Country woman is cooking her first meal in her brand new kitchen, thanks to the News on 6 and "Kitchens by Jim Thompson."

Gloria Cardamone won our "Kitchen Makeover" contest on "Six in the Morning" back in April. Monday morning, Gloria got to see the results of the extreme makeover. Gloria was speechless at first at the transformation. The $30,000 makeover included new cabinets and countertops.

The finished project was even more of a surprise for Gloria because she was on vacation while the designers from "Kitchen by Jim Thompson" did all their work. Obviously Gloria was pleased and already has big plans for the new kitchen.

â€œWell, I wanted more room to be able to entertain and have my grandkids do cooking projects with my grandchildren and I think that's going to happen in here."

Thanks to the folks at Hahn Appliance, Gloria also got a new refrigerator to go in her new kitchen.
