An Okmulgee County man is in custody, accused in connection with the death of his 7-month-old step-granddaughter.

Authorities say Denvil Mark Taylor initially told investigators the girl fell off a sofa and hit her head, but later said he was playing with her and tossed her into the air and she was hit by a ceiling fan then fell onto a table.

The baby was rushed to a Tulsa hospital where she later died. Taylor is being held on a manslaughter complaint.

Investigators say they don't suspect anyone else in the case.
