OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ An Oklahoma City attorney says about 500 people have contacted him about joining a lawsuit over equipment used to administer breath-alcohol tests.
Mike Gassaway has filed a lawsuit for three people convicted of DUI. The lawsuit says the device used to test the breath-alcohol level is not on the state's list of approved equipment.
Gassaway says his office is being deluged with calls and has added a separate phone line.
State officials have said the device called a Guth 2,100 was inadvertently left off the list of equipment approved for use in DUI cases. The head of the state's alcohol and drug testing board _ McBeth Sample _ has been fired for the mistake.
