A Green Country family is counting their blessings, after a bullet hit their car and missed everyone inside.
The shooting happened on US Highway 75 in Tulsa Tuesday night and Tulsa Police are asking for your help to solve the crime. 6 in the Morning reporter Omar Villafranca says two women and a three year old boy were on their way to church when they heard two gunshots.
The 3 year old boy was asleep in the back seat. The boy's grandmother says the toddler woke up grabbing his ears. They pulled over quickly near the 2800 block of US Highway 75. That's when the driver noticed a bullet lodged in the backseat, right next to where the toddler was sleeping.
Driver Renee King: “I heard a big old bang and I was scared you know, and I pulled over and got a big old hole in my car. But I got to tell you, I thank God, he saved us from this. We had a three year old in the backseat. Almost hit him. I'm going to tell you something, I'm going to pray for the man who did this."
The boy's grandmother says if the boy was awake and sitting up, he might not be alive. Tulsa Police are not sure if the shot came from another car or from some nearby bushes.
This latest shooting follows several others on the Creek Turnpike, but it's not believed these are related.
If you might have seen anything suspicious Tuesday evening on US Highway 75, you can call Crimestoppers. The number is 596-COPS and remember, you can remain anonymous.
