GUTHRIE, Okla. (AP) -- A Logan County judge has reduced bail for a Norman man accused of swindling Wichita State's baseball coach and prominent Guthrie residents out of nearly $1-million.
Jack Logsdon was released on bail Thursday after it was lowered from $174,000 to $75,000 against the wishes of prosecutors.
The 59-year-old is charged with 17 felonies for allegedly bilking WSU coach Gene Stephenson, Guthrie Mayor Jon Gumerson and other long-time friends through scams involving cattle, land and property transactions.
Logsdon's attorney appealed the initial bail amount, citing possible bias by Associate District Judge Larry Brooks.
Brooks recused himself from the case because he knows four of the state's witnesses.
Logsdon has worked as a travel agency owner and sports handicapper and currently is employed in Norman as a relief pharmacist.
