The Amazing Race casting call

Hundreds of competitive people crowded the Riverwalk Crossing in Jenks for a chance to travel the world and compete for $1-million.

The Amazing Race 9 held a casting call in Green Country Wednesday. News on 6 reporter Omar Villafranca has more from the starting line.

More than 300 competitive souls braved the dog days of summer, for a chance to be on the CBS hit show, The Amazing Race. A couple of people took the day off, others "called in sick", so they could come to the Riverwalk Crossing in Jenks to sign up. Chon Scott: â€œmy wife and I are devoted watchers, I usually work on Thursday night but she taped it and I come home and look forward to that. It's the first thing I do when I get home.â€

David Jernigan and Chon Scott have been friends for 19 years. They participate in the Scottish games together, that's why their wearing kilts. They were a little nervous about the audition, but not enough to stay away. The audition is pretty simple. There is a light set and a camera ready to go. You have 2 minutes to talk, and if you have any problems, there is a cheat sheet that is set up. But the main thing is to sell your personality.

Afterwards, David and Chon felt pretty good about their first two minutes of fame. Chon Scott: "we got in there, we were pumped up. WE were all excited and we were letting the camera know, hey we are in this." David Jernigan: "like Chon said, we're pumped up and positive. I got a good feeling about it."

The good feeling might be the breeze coming through their kilts, but David and Chon say, winning and being $1-million richer would feel even better. David and Chon say that if they make it on to The Amazing Race, they'll wear the kilts.

CBS will contact all the contestants and let them know if they made it to the next round. Good luck to everyone who came out.
