JAY, Okla. (AP) _ Delaware County authorities say they'll search near the Oklahoma-Arkansas state line for the body of a Kansas, Oklahoma, man who disappeared nearly 17 years ago.
Detective Charlie Melton says the search for the body of Johnnie Ball will be in the Colcord area in southeastern Delaware County. Melton says he's developed four or five suspects in connection with Ball's disappearance from his home in September 1988.
A tip in April sent searchers to two abandoned wells in southern Delaware County where they found an empty billfold and the sole of a shoe or boot, but no body.
Ball was 60 when he disappeared. His wife told police Ball left home in the middle of the night after someone drove up outside their home and honked.
