A New Mexico youth baseball team visiting Tulsa had to learn the meaning of good sportsmanship the hard way Sunday.
The Farmington Yankees traveled 14 hours to Tulsa to play in the Super Series, World Series tournament, but Sunday morning discovered their trailer and all their equipment was stolen from their hotel.
At their first game, other teams and parents rallied around the Yankees to keep them in the game. Chris Weaver with the Farmington Yankees: "Even our opponents were giving us gloves and cleats. The parents were donating money, and our opponents in the other dugout were giving us stuff."
Melanie Scanland with the Farmington Yankees: "It's a motorcycle trailer, it's white, and if anyone sees an abandoned trailer, we would love to have it back, even if nothing is in it, so call the police, or even you guys, we want the trailer back. As far as the equipment, we working on getting that replaced."
Melanie also says the trailer has orange and silver lightning details on the side.
