OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) State Superintendent of Schools Sandy Garret asks for an investigative audit after the Coyle Public School District ended the year with a deficit of $250,000.
Garrett says she suspects poor management of funds and improper procedures in place for budgeting.
She told the Board of Education that officials have been concerned about the district's financial condition for months.
The district, located in Logan County east of Guthrie, has 350 students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
Garrett says the financial problems shouldn't prevent the district from opening on schedule for the 2005-2006 school year.
