If you don't like criminals or are tired of feeling like a victim, here is a story about two Tulsa citizens who fought back.
Two Tulsa residents put an alleged drunk driver[pictured right] in his place early Monday morning after he smashed into one of their cars.
As the News on 6's Steve Berg reports, he messed with the wrong Mustang. "I'm sure there's a lot of damage under there. I don't know how much."
It was quite the eye-opener and ear-opener at 3 AM, as Jarrod Wall woke up to the sound of a big bang into his Ford Mustang, but the alleged culprit would get a rude awakening of his own. You see Jarrod has another red Ford Mustang GT. "Oh yeah, we had two. My dad went off in his Mustang and I went in mine and luckily he passed right in front of us. And it was just by chance that we found him."
The driver of the Ford Explorer tried to lose the Mustang posse, but to no avail and crashed into a light pole, where Jarrod's neighbor Brad Philpott took over. Did we mention that Brad is applying to be a Tulsa County Sheriff's deputy? His training just got started a little early. "It was a good experience, having all that excitement going on at night. You know it's something you really don't want to happen, but it happened and we just took action, we weren't going to let him get away."
Jarrod says Brad yelled at him with such authority that the confused driver actually said, "I'm sorry officer." Jarrod Wall: "He didn't really put up much of a fight after we got him out of the car." Steve Berg: "Yeah, Brad looks like he can take care of himself." Jarrod Wall: "Yeah, he can. The officers showed up and tossed him the handcuffs and said thanks and Brad handcuffed him."
The skid marks start 160 feet from the point of impact and Tulsa Police guess the truck was going at least 70 miles per hour before it even started braking.
Jarrod Wall: "since we do live in this part of the intersection, they just barrel around the corner and they've hit my car sitting over here a couple of times, so I’m glad that somebody finally got caught."
Tulsa Police tell the News on 6, the driver could face charges of DUI or DWI and leaving the scene of an accident.
Jarrod's not sure if his car is totaled, but might be looking at one of the new Ford Mustangs.
