OILTON, Okla. (AP) _ Rescue workers recover the body of a 52-year old Cushing man who drowned Saturday in the Cimarron River in Creek County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the body of Eric Brown was found at about 4 PM Saturday in 10 feet of water. The patrol says Brown was attempting to swim across the river to fish Saturday morning when he went under the water.

Witnesses heard Brown cry for help and attempted to rescue him, but were unsuccessful.

Brown's body was recovered about three-quarters of a mile west of the State Highway 99 bridge.
