The 2005 inductees to the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame were announced Thursday.
A crowd gathered at the Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa to hear which five music legends will be inducted this year.
The musicians being honored include Tommy Allsup from Claremore, best known for playing guitar in Buddy Holly's band. Billy Parker, who had an extensive radio career in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Bob Bogle, co-founder of the Ventures, and Nokie Edwards, former lead guitarist of that group. And big star Toby Keith will also be inducted this fall.
The News on 6 caught up with Billy Parker at Thursday's announcement. "I remember so many great people in the business and of course, Oklahoma has been better to me than anything in the world, so to be a member of the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. I'm proud."
The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame concert and induction ceremony will be on October 27th at the Muskogee Civic Center. Tickets for the event go on sale in September.
