OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – State House Democrats have elected new leaders for the 2007 Legislature.
Meeting in a caucus Wednesday, Democrats elected Representative Danny Morgan of Prague to serve as the next Democratic leader after the 2006 elections. Morgan will work with current Democrat leader Jari Askins of Duncan until that time.
The son of former state representative Charlie Morgan, Danny Morgan is a small businessman and a former mayor of Prague.
Democrats also elected Ryan McMullen of Burns Flat as the next caucus chair and James Covey of Custer City as the next assistant leader.
