UNDATED (AP) -- The body of a missing Choctaw man was pulled from Lake Texoma Monday evening.

The Oklahoma Lake Patrol says the body of Elgin Robert Heinrich was recovered from the lake shortly before 7 PM.

Heinrich disappeared Sunday afternoon in the Mclaughlin Creek cove in Marshall County.

The patrol says Heinrich, his wife and two small children were fishing when one of the children fell into the water with a life jacket on and started to drift away from the boat.

The victim went into the water to retrieve the child. But while trying to return to the boat, Heinrich went under and never resurfaced.

The Lake Patrol suspended recovery operations on Sunday due to darkness.
