WICHITA, Kan. (AP) The sale of Boeing airplane plants in Tulsa, McAlester and Wichita, Kansas, to Canada-based Onex Corporation is now final.
Completion of the $1.2 billion dollar means about 1,100 workers are losing their jobs at the three plants which will operate as Mid-Western Aircraft Systems starting today.
Boeing laid off all the workers in preparation for the sale and Onex isn't offering jobs to about 1,100. Those employees haven't been working, but Boeing continued to pay them until the sale went through.
