Thousands of country music fans are in Pryor this weekend enjoying the sounds of some of Nashville's biggest stars.
The festival is becoming a major economic engine for Pryor and Mayes County.
Country Fever organizers say they had about 15,000 people out here last night alone. Ticket sales are up, campers are up and Country Fever is catching on.
Country Fever is now in it's third year. And, its developed a regional reputation for bringing in some of the biggest names in country music. Folks have come from all over to enjoy the four-day outdoor concert. Organizers say pre-sold tickets are up 40% over last year. And, that could be a big boost to the Pryor economy. Country Fever's President says the festival pumps three to four million dollars into the local economy. And, its getting stronger every year.
Mark Nuessle/Country Fever Pres & GM "We had 14-15 thousand last night. So that times four. We're getting there, we're happy, we're high-fiving."
The crowd has already started to pick up. The Oak Ridge Boys are getting ready to take the stage.
