MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) _ A Muskogee man convicted of hiring a hit man to kill his estranged wife is sentenced to life in prison.
60-year-old Bradley Leon Kizzia was convicted of first-degree murder in April for hiring Lonnie Deckard to kill his wife on the couple's rural property between Okay and Muskogee in December 2002.
Deckard testified that Kizzia hired him for two-thousand dollars and promised him a rent-to-own deal on a house if he would kill Kizzia's 49-year-old wife, Dayna Kizzia.
Deckard testified he shot Dayna Kizzia three times when she was in her pickup, took her keys, a gun and shell casings and threw them into a river. Dayna Kizzia died of a shotgun blast to her head.
Deckard pleaded guilty in February and was also sentenced to life in prison.
