UNDATED (AP) _ A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for 19 western and southern Oklahoma counties as strong storms pound the state for the second straight day.

The National Storm Prediction Center in Norman says the watch will remain in effect until midnight. Large hail, strong winds and dangerous lightning could accompany the rain storms.

Forecasters say the storms could also produce a tornado, but the main threat will be high winds.

Several tornadoes touched down yesterday as thunderstorms moved across the state. Several homes were injured and at least five people were injured.

Counties included in the thunderstorm watch are: Beckham, Blaine, Caddo, Canadian, Comanche, Cotton, Custer, Dewey, Grady, Greer, Harmon, Jackson, Jefferson, Kingfisher, Kiowa, Roger Mills, Stephens, Tillman and Washita.
