A Tulsa City Councilor says he's not backing down from an investigation into airport operations even after receiving a death threat.

District Three councilman Roscoe Turner says he received the death threat last week. Tulsa Police are now investigating the call.

6 in the Morning reporter Omar Villafranca says Roscoe Turner says he's worried for his safety, but he's not going to let the threat change what he's doing.

The obscenity-laced message was left on Turner's home answering machine last Tuesday. On the message, the male caller warned Turner to "leave the airport alone" and went on to threaten to kill the councilman if he didn't leave Tulsa.

A recent federal probe into Tulsa International Airport's operations did not find any criminal activity. But the council opened its own investigation into the airport's operations. The council's investigation started with Great Plains Airlines and now includes a look at operations at Jones' Riverside Airport.

Two other councilors sit on the investigation committee, but they have not received death threats.

Turner says he has no idea who left him the message and he didn't want to guess who might have left it. Tulsa Police detectives are investigating and say they're taking it very seriously.
