A Tulsa radio station is painting the town to help a good cause, teaching drug prevention to young people.
Rick Couri and KRMG NewsTalk 740 have teamed up again to raise money for Operation Aware. This year, they will be repainting storm sewer covers at Tulsa's RiverParks between 11th Street and 61st Street.
Couri has chosen more than 40 words representing character values to stencil on the concrete covers. With a small donation, anyone is welcome to paint their hand print on the character word of their choice.
Couri hopes to raise $50,000 for Operation Aware. This is his 18th year to support the program.
Operation Aware is a non-profit organization that teaches kids drug prevention and positive life skills.
