WEATHERFORD, Okla. (AP) -- A moon rock will be unveiled next month at the General Thomas P. Stafford Air and Space Museum in Weatherford.
The moon rock is part of a celebration of the 1975 Apollo-Soyuz space flight and an expansion of the museum.
Former astronauts and cosmonauts will attend a June 12th reception at the museum.
Stafford commanded the Americans on the nine-day joint mission of Russians and Americans July 15th and 25th, 1975.
He, Vance Brand and the late Deke Slayton in an Apollo capsule linked up with two cosmonauts in a Soyuz craft. Stafford, Brand and the two Russians are among those expected in Weatherford for the event.
