A Creek County police officer knows first-hand the dangers Iraqi police face. Tracy Griffin took his 18-years of police experience overseas to help train Iraqi police. He spent a year there, and helped about 100 men.
Griffin says his team could have done more, but attacks from insurgents often interrupted training efforts. Griffin believes if the Iraqi police are given enough time, they will put down the insurgency. "Enough equipment and enough training yes they want to first they have to get the numbers then the training and the equipment but I think they can and I think they will.â€
Griffin will start work at the Tulsa County Sheriff's office next week.
He says he would think about going back to Iraq, even though his wife would rather keep him here at home.
