The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating a report of a car on the Creek Turnpike hit by a ball bearing.
Troopers believe it was fired from a slingshot. It happened about 8:30 Thursday night. A driver traveling westbound on the Creek was between Sheridan and Yale, when his side window shattered.
OHP trooper Lt. Jerry Reagan: "He noticed his windshield, his passenger front windshield had a shot in it. He pulled over immediately and looked over to the area that it was shot from, he looked back toward that wooded area. He didn't see anybody."
Investigators found a 3/8ths-inch ball bearing in the car. A search of Hunter Park, where the shooter might have been, didn't turn up anything.
Authorities say this incident has no similarities with the recent shootings further west on the Creek Turnpike.
