OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The Oklahoma Highway Patrol will have troopers out in full force on interstates and at lakes in the state during the Memorial Day weekend.
Lieutenant Brandon Kopepasah says troopers will be watching for speeders, drunken drivers and those not wearing seat belts or using child safety seats. The lake patrol are focusing on boaters without life jackets.
He says troopers will use aircraft, patrol boats, unmarked cars, motorcycles and sobriety checkpoints across the state.
Last year 18 people were killed in traffic accidents and two others drowned during the Memorial Day weekend.
